26 day writing challenge-day 2 'Joy'

Something that brings a smile to my face is watching my kids grow into the young adults they are becoming.  It is bitter sweet I know, as I reminisce the days when they were young and clingy.  We now let go, step back and watch God move in them to  grow into the  person they are meant to be.

50 weeks to 50, week 3

  Nov 9/10. 50 weeks to 50, week 3 I miss my mom. We lost her 3 years ago this November. I seem to really miss her when I most need her.   I wish I ran to her more for advice when she was still here but I never wanted to worry her.  I could really use her now in this season of life with my 'almost' adult kids, especially with that one, the one that gives me most heart ache.  She would know because I was that one to her.  I’m sorry mom for giving you so much trouble.  YOU are my hero though. I feel you close when I seem to inherit your qualities without even realizing it, but really all it is, is just caring too darn much.

26 day writing challenge-day 26 'Beginning'

  Describe your day so far as it were the opening scene of a novel. Thoughts slowly fill my waking mind.  Another Monday.   I slowly rise out of bed then step out into a dark sleeping world.    My run is under a wet canopy of a drizzly humid morning.  The occasional trade winds offer a cool respite.  Back home for shower, breakfast and off to work to start my day at the clinic.  Lord, give me strength today.
