26 day writing challenge-day 24 'Learning'

 Write about a lesson life has taught you recently. 


As a working mom of three boys, two in college and one teenager in high school I am learning the art of letting go.   I am learning the balance of being a support for them while allowing them to make their own mistakes.   I am learning that God already has a plan for them and that their journey has been set forth already for some time.   I am learning the blessing of what has been to be their parent for this short time and watching them grow into adults.   I am learning there is a season for all things and to pay attention to what role God has for me now.

50 weeks to 50, week 3

  Nov 9/10. 50 weeks to 50, week 3 I miss my mom. We lost her 3 years ago this November. I seem to really miss her when I most need her.   I wish I ran to her more for advice when she was still here but I never wanted to worry her.  I could really use her now in this season of life with my 'almost' adult kids, especially with that one, the one that gives me most heart ache.  She would know because I was that one to her.  I’m sorry mom for giving you so much trouble.  YOU are my hero though. I feel you close when I seem to inherit your qualities without even realizing it, but really all it is, is just caring too darn much.

     Hawaii is the only state completely surrounded by water.  As a matter of fact, it’s the most isolated body of land in the whole world surrounded by miles of Pacific Ocean. It’s also the only state to have an increasing land area with its continuous volcanic eruptions. It is essentially a body of land in the middle of nowhere making something new to  become a part of something so beautiful.        Some of you may be wondering what makes someone or a whole family no less just pick up and leave the place they lived most of their life and move to this isolated place?
