He is there
As I reflect on this past month, I am reminded that God is always working even in the hidden places we don’t expect.
This past month was very full and busy for me. So full, I’m late in posting this blog. A close friend of my mine pointed out that I wear many hats and it is true. So before I’m off to my next responsibility or hat, I have a few minutes to push out some thoughts. For sake of time, I’m going to take what I’ve learned this month in our church leadership class and just let the Holy Spirit run with it.
One highlight this past month was getting together with my life group, sister friends with for potluck to celebrate not only my birthday but each other. Since I don’t get to do this too often, I was excited to host and cook for them. It was a great time of reconnecting and worshiping, singing praise songs into the night.
It reminded me of the time when Jesus was with his disciples in the upper room for the last Supper. He came to host and serve, not be served. Jesus physically provided for them, breaking bread, but also offered forgiveness. I believe he extends the same invitation to you today, to sit and fellowship with Him as a friend , provider, healer and Savior. Jesus also revealed himself in the upper room to Thomas in his doubts.
I confess, as I stress and worry, I struggle with doubts and trust in God constantly. But I know He is working in me, on this. But here Jesus sends his Holy Spirit, as an advocate and helper for our lives. So we have help. All we need to do is surrender and open our arms to receive it. o that.
In my work life , I had struggles, but that is slowly getting better as we hired some extra help. There was also much to celebrate—my birthday, kayak adventure, son’s cross country championships, but even more amazing is realizing that God is working in it all. He wants to be involved in every aspect of our lives. He extends the invitation to us as friends, his sons, daughters disciples to meet him in that upper room. May we always be aware of all He has done for us and all he desires to do through us. I pray that my life will be a place where others encounter God and become that potluck upper room.
Thank you for letting me share
